Waxing exfoliates the skin by picking up dead skin cells. So not only are you removing the hair but at the same time receiving skin care.
Waxing pulls the hair from the root leaving your skin looking and feeling smoother than it would after shaving.
Since you are waxing and it pulls from the root it takes the hair a lot longer to grow. So all you have to do is make your appointment every 3-4 weeks.
Because waxing removes hair from the root, the hair will take much longer to grow back than it will with other hair removal methods. When your hair does grow back after waxing, it will grow back weaker, making it finer and softer .
Many people find hair removal methods like epilation and hair removal creams irritating to the skin. However, when performed by our wax specialist to do your waxing with proper technique, it rarely ever causes this problem.
When you frequently book your waxes, over time all these benefits will decrease the time duration of how long it can take to do your wax. So you will save time and it will feel like a breeze!
Sugar wax only consists of natural ingredients water, sugar and lemon. It is highly recommended for the most sensitive skin.
Sugar paste is only warmed to about body temperature, which results in no risk of burning.
Since the ingredients used in sugar are all natural, which is more gentle on your skin and acts as a natural exfoliant.
Sugar is applied against the direction of hair growth and removal is done in the direction of growth. This leads to less pressure on the hair shaft, which means less breakage.
The lemon juice and sugar naturally exfoliates the skin which leaves the skin smoother and brighter.
Over time, frequent sugaring can cause the hair follicle to become damaged and stop growing hair.
The pain associated with waxing has more to do with anxiety and tension a person feels. The more relaxed you are, the less painful the experience will be.
Before setting an appointment your hair should be at least a ¼ inch long (about the length of a grain of rice), to allow the wax to grab the hair. If it is your first time waxing, then we recommend you refrain from shaving for at least two weeks before your reservation. After your first wax, it is recommended to wax every 3-4 weeks.
Dry hair and dry skin make it easier for your hair to break when removed. To get the smoothest and long-lasting results, the skin and hair should be healthy and moisture-rich in-between waxing appointments .
No, we don't mean tequila! We recommend you to take tylenol or advil two hours prior to waxing.
Products that contain lidocaine are helpful because they will temporarily numb the area and prevent pain.
When jumping for joy after your first wax, it removes the majority of hair. Because hairs grow in different cycles, your next wax will remove the hairs that were still growing below the skin’s surface. After 3-4 sessions, all of your hairs should be growing in the same cycle, leaving you with longer lasting smooth skin.
The best way to treat and prevent ingrown is to use a body scrub or serum. A body scrub is a popular body treatment that is basically a facial for the body. It exfoliates and hydrates your skin, leaving it smooth and soft. A body scrub is made with an abrasive material, usually sea salt or sugar mixed with massage and essential oils.
We know it’s hard, but try not to scratch those newly waxed areas. Because the skin will be sensitive, you must be careful not to cause further irritation by scratching. We recommend to soothe the area by using an aloe vera gel or our hydrojelly mask treatment.
To prevent ingrown hairs or further skin irritation, we recommend that you use a serum to help prevent and clear ingrown hairs and breakouts as well as calm and nourish the skin. We currently hold the most innovative ingrown serum in the market. Please ask one of our specialist the next time you come in.
If you’ve just gotten waxed and you are noticing hairs growing rapidly, just know that hair grows in different cycles. It’s possible that the hairs just below the skin have reached the surface after your wax service, resulting in a stubbly feel. Keep moisturizing daily between services and don’t worry, allow these hairs to grow so we can remove them next time we see you.
Yes you can wax on your period. Just know that the area is more sensitive during this time and in order for us to complete the service, you will need to wear a fresh tampon before your appointment.
Yes you can still get waxed, you may experience discomfort due to hormonal changes but we will do our best to ensure you are most comfortable.
We will never perform a wax on sunburned or unhealthy skin.
The types of wax used are soft wax, hard wax, and sugar. Soft wax is applied and removed by using a cloth or strip. Hard wax is applied and allowed to cool down, once it has cooled down the wax becomes hard which is why a strip is not required. Sugar is applied when the esthetician warms the paste between their fingers and it is then applied and removed.
Sugaring is a safe, natural alternative to waxing. Sugar paste for hair removal dates back as far as 1900 B.C. and was first discovered to have originated in Egypt. Sugaring is 100% natural. No chemicals. No preservatives. No irritants. It is simply made out of Sugar, Water and Lemon Juice. Which makes it ideal for sensitive skin. The sugar paste is a natural exfoliate that only adheres to dead skin cells and hair. Since the Sugar DOES NOT remove any live skin cells, any discomfort will subside much more quickly than with wax.
Both methods are very similar, but different techniques of applying and removing the wax, make all the difference. Many people perceive the sugaring technique as less painful, since only the hair is covered from the sugar paste and is not combined with the skin.
