How Many Sessions Are Needed?
On average, 12 sessions are recommended for long-lasting results. Why so many?
- Hair grows in cycles (anagen, catagen, telogen)
- Laser only targets follicles in the active (anagen) phase
- Hormonal areas (face, bikini, underarms) may require more sessions
- Results vary based on skin type, hair texture, and consistency

Maintenance sessions may be needed every 6–12 months after your initial series.
Before Your Appointment

- Shave the area 24 hours before treatment
- Avoid waxing, plucking, threading, or depilatories for at least 4 weeks
- No tanning, self-tanner, or prolonged sun exposure 2 weeks prior
- Avoid active skincare (retinol, AHAs, BHAs, vitamin C) on the area for 5 days before
- Discontinue antibiotics or photosensitizing meds 7 days prior (with doctor approval)
- Stay hydrated and avoid caffeine for smoother treatments
Who Should Avoid Laser Hair Removal?
-
You’ve had recent sunburn, spray tan, or used tanning beds
-
You’re using topical steroids or certain acne medications on the area
-
You have skin cancer or a history of abnormal scarring (e.g., keloids)
-
You’ve recently undergone chemical peels or microneedling in the same area (within 2–4 weeks)
When in doubt, always consult your medical provider and inform your technician.

Aftercare Is Key

-
Keep the area clean and moisturized

Laser Hair Removal — FAQs
Laser hair removal is a safe and effective method for long-term hair reduction. It works by targeting hair follicles with concentrated light energy to slow and minimize future growth. Treatments are fast, with minimal discomfort, and can be tailored to all skin types and most areas of the body. For best results, a series of sessions is recommended.
How does laser hair removal work?
A laser emits light that is absorbed by the pigment in your hair. This light energy damages the hair follicle to slow or stop future hair growth.
Is laser hair removal permanent?
It’s considered long-term hair reduction. Most clients experience up to 80–90% reduction in hair after a full series. Occasional maintenance sessions may be needed.
Does laser hair removal hurt?
Most clients describe the sensation as a light warmth or slight tingling. Some areas may be more sensitive than others, but overall, the treatment is quick and easy to tolerate.
What areas can be treated?
Almost anywhere! We treat face, underarms, arms, legs, bikini/Brazilian, chest, back, shoulders, stomach, neck, and more.
Can all skin tones be treated?
Yes! We use lasers that are safe and effective for all skin types, including deeper skin tones.
Can I wax or tweeze between sessions?
No. You must only shave between sessions. Waxing or tweezing removes the follicle, which the laser needs to target for results.
What should I avoid before my appointment?
Avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, retinol products, and photosensitizing medications like antibiotics for at least 10 days prior. Also, do not wax or tweeze.
What are possible side effects?
Mild redness, swelling, or a sunburn-like sensation is normal and usually fades within a few hours to a day.
What happens if I miss a session?
Skipping or delaying sessions can disrupt your progress. Hair grows in cycles, so it’s important to stay consistent with your schedule.
Can I get laser after waxing or threading?
You must wait at least 4 weeks after waxing, threading, or tweezing before starting laser hair removal to ensure the follicle is intact.
Can I get laser hair removal over a tattoo?
We don’t laser directly over tattoos to protect your skin and preserve the ink, but no worries—we can safely work around the tattooed area to ensure effective treatment.
